2nd Corinthians: Living Life through the Lens of the Gospel
"Pride, Zeal, and the Supremacy of the Gospel"
March 12, 2017. Message by Pastor Chris Robbins from 2 Corinthians 10:1-18 (part of our ongoing series in 2 Corinthians).
The Apostle Paul was not concerned with living up to the cultural norms and pleasing the Corinthians with his good looks or powerful speaking capabilities. Instead, Paul was concerned with how the Corinthians valued Christ and His Gospel.
In 2 Corinthians chapter 10, Paul challenges the Christians in Corinth by maintaining that life isn't about what a man can accomplish in his own strength. Instead, life is about each of us being available to God and willing to serve however God would call us. We should aim to live a life viewed through the lens of the Gospel - everything else will pass away - and we should boast about all the God does in and through us.
Pastor Chris left us with this challenge: To practice "boasting in the Lord" to those people in our neighborhoods or workplaces who need to hear what the Lord has done in our lives so that they may hear the good news - the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
